The 39219QLD Course in Preparation for Owner Builder Permit is an essential requirement of the Queensland Building Services Authority in the granting of an Owner Builder Permit for building work where the total commercial value (including GST) exceeds $11,000.
| How does the Weekend Course work? |
This 18 hour Course (15 hours supervised and three hours study time) is conducted over two consecutive days (Saturday and Sunday) between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm with 1 hour for lunch. Morning and Afternoon tea on both days is provide.
Participants will be instructed on the latest building regulations and methods of construction. Owner Builders are eligible for the full $7,000.00 First Home Owners Grant providing they meet the necessary criteria.
The 2 day Owner Builder Course is divided into four sessions (morning and afternoon). At the end of each sessions there will be a Question and Answer Review which will form part of your competency assessment.

At the conclusion of this Course you will receive a Statement of Attainment which is recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework. This will allow you to apply for your Owner Builder Permit with the Building Services Authority.

Participants who choose to combine the Owner Builder Weekend Course with the Safety Induction Course will receive a discounted price for the safety course. The Safety Induction Course will be sent to you upon receipt of funds. You will need to complete the course before the weekend Owner Builder Course. The Course will be deliberated & assessed on Sunday afternoon as part of a group.
Owner Builders have to have a Workplace Health & Safety induction card (White card) if they are doing any work on site.
