About The Peach Institute & Bryan Peach

The Peach Institute is a Registered Training Organisation (Reg No 31822 -prior to 01.10.2008: 30243) since 2000 and is registered and accredited to teach and assess Courses that are recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and Australian Vocation Education and Training (VET) sector.

We strive for student satisfaction and our success is proven by the consistent remarks made by our students on the simplicity of the course and the ease with which they complete the assessment

The Peach Institute has specialised in two courses:

Our course materials are constantly under review and amended to reflect the changing requirements of relevant statutes, legislation's and the Building Code of Australia.

The founder of The Peach Institute, Bryan Peach, has been involved in the building industry for over 35 years and has been a registered builder since the inception of Builder Registration in Queensland in 1972.

Mr. Peach has vast knowledge and extensive experience in all types of building construction and design of both domestic and commercial buildings, and is an assessor for the house building, carpentry and concreting trades.

His qualifications include:

In 1995 Bryan Peach became involved with Construction Training Queensland in the assessment of trade persons to attain their Builders and Trade Licenses under the RPL (recognised prior learning) scheme.

Also in 1995 he began teaching the Owner Builders Course at the Cairns TAFE College. By 1998 the TAFE College had decided not to include the Owner Builder Course in its future curriculum, and so as a service to the community Mr Peach became a Registered Training Organisation (Reg No 31822) in order to continue to teach the courses.

The Peach Institute’s Owner Builder Courses can be completed in two ways, by Two-day weekend course and by Correspondence.

The Peach Institute provides a large volume of explanatory material to its students to supplement the Owner Builder Study Guide: 60+ pages of additional information is provided to lecture course participants, while 95+ pages are provided to correspondence course students to compensate for a lecturer.

In addition to information regarding Workplace Plan and Site Rules, house plans, contractual requirements and energy efficiency, our students receive a BSA Facts Booklet and the application papers for the Owner Builder Permit.

Since June 2006 The Peach Institute has included the Course in General Safety Induction to it’s scope of registration. Due to changes in legislation all owner builders or persons who wish to do any work on a site themselves require the Workplace Health & Safety induction card (white card). To allow more flexibility and discount participants can combine the Course in General Safety Induction and the Course in Preparation for Owner Builder Permit.
